Dental Assisting

The Dental Assisting Program at MCTEC was audited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) in October 2023 and received renewal of accreditation without any findings. If you are interested in a career as a Dental Assistant, come and train at MCTEC!

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Dental Science field; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills. The program is designed to prepare students for employment as dental assistants and to take the Dental Assisting National Board Examination.

Students planning on enrolling in Dental Assisting will need to be scheduled in all four courses either all morning or all afternoon.  It takes one year to complete the program. The courses are listed below.
